Fazenda Sitio Groto Funda is located in the lush terroir of the Serra de Mantiqueira mountain range. As a third generation coffee grower, Glaucio Carniero Pinto has been growing coffee since 1967, purchasing Groto Funda in 1992. The cherries are pulped on the same day they’re harvested and laid out on patios in a single layer to dry in the sun until the seeds reach a humidity of 11%. Upon tasting, you’ll find Sitio Groto Funda to be extremely sweet with notes of marshmallow, date, vanilla, and molasses, followed by subtle dried fruit notes of cranberry, raisin, and fig along with the ever present overtone of creamy milk chocolate.
